Five managers who could replace David Moyes at Manchester United

Van Gaal would not represent a long term managerial replacement given his previous history with the likes of Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich but what he would bring back is our competitive edge.

He has won titles in four countries and the Champions League, so trophies have come regularly for him across a managerial career spanning two decades. Given that United’s aura has completely disappeared, a man with the credentials of Van Gaal would be mentally big enough to help bring it back.

He is the type of manager that should have replaced Moyes in the first place to keep our competitiveness up in the post-Fergie era.
