Within the space of 24 hours, Arjen Robben has written off Manchester United’s chances of getting anything out of the game against Bayern Munich tomorrow and labelled us as a team who are capable of winning.
The Mirror article: “Bayern have no fear of United at all.
“Take our game against Schalke 04 the other week. We played in such a high tempo, that we were 4-0 up within 30 minutes. We don’t let our opponents come up for air. That is the Bayern of Guardiola.”
In contrast, Robben’s BBC article says otherwise: “It’s going to be a tough duel and we’ve got to watch out,” Robben said.
“The media and public opinion is that Manchester are not in good shape and that we’re going through to the semis, but I don’t like that at all.
“You only need to get distracted for a second and you lose against Manchester United.
“If you lose concentration and lose the ball, then you get punished there.”
Either way you look at it, there’s a reason why United are 6/1 to win at Old Trafford but Robben’s contradiction suggests he doesn’t know what expect.
