Miralem Pjanic has admitted that ‘some things are true’ when questioned about interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Bayern Munich but didn’t go any further with specific details.
The 24-year-old Bosnian midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United a lot in recent months and at one stage, reports from Bosnia suggested we had submitted an ‘undisclosed bid’ for Pjanic – nothing materialised from that.
Pjanic himself has previously welcomed United’s interest and speaking to Forza Italian Football this week, he further fuelled speculation by playing a game by indicating some of the rumours linking him with a move away are true.
“Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are interested in me? I’m used to these rumours, but some things are true,” he said.
“I’m fine at Roma, I still have a year on my contract and I don’t know what will happen.
“There will come a time to think about a new contract or a possible transfer, but for now I’m only focused on performing well and the World Cup.”
Although United’s interest may be genuine, Pjanic has been on PSG’s radar this season and the midfielder has attended at least one of their games
United would face stiff competition from a lot of teams if we went in for him this summer, just like we will anywhere else.
Pjanic’s decision to try to delay any talks about his future until the summer are a smart move because it gives him a chance to show himself off on the world stage. Whether or not that means United will may a move for him remains to be seen.
