Kroos won’t sign a new contract and can leave Bayern for free in 2015 – report

Toni Kroos is not going to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich and will be able to leave on a free transfer next summer, according to journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft.

Earlier this week, ex-Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes confirmed that Kroos had been given an offer by the club but Fjortoft claims that because of a difference in valuation, Kroos won’t be able to come to an agreement with Bayern.

What Kroos wants to get is financial parity with players like Thomas Muller and Thiago Alcantara as he is reportedly on £50,000 a week, less than a third of what some of Bayern Munich’s biggest earners are on.

By comparison, Ashley Young is on approximately £120,000 a week at Manchester United.

Bayern Munich are adamant that Kroos will not leave this summer and his agent has reiterated the point but if Manchester United came in with a £30 million+ offer for Kroos this summer, would they really reject it and let Kroos leave on a free the following year?

The fact that Bayern Munich are unwilling to give Kroos what he wants means the possibility of Kroos leaving for a big money offer this summer is still there. Money talks in football and in the modern game, any player is available at the right price.
