James Wilson made it two goals in the past two games with a very accomplished finish against Tottenham Hotspur tonight.
The 18-year-old received a pass into his feet on the edge of Tottenham’s box, made space for himself and found a pinpoint low finish into the bottom right hand corner just past the goalkeeper’s outstretched arm.
It was a very accomplished finish from a player who has emerged as one of Manchester United’s most promising talents in the academy.
Before the game against Aston Villa last week, Warren Joyce set Wilson a challenge of scoring in every remaining Under-21s game this season – so far, so good.
That puts him on 21 goals for the season in all competitions.
The way he has played this season, it would be a real surprise if we didn’t get to see Wilson join the first team on the pre-season tour.
