Manchester United have agreed a £35 million deal to sign Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho before the World Cup, according to talkSPORT.
Reports suggest the deal will be announced when the transfer window opens and that the 22-year-old will be the first of many signings this summer, with interest in Southampton’s Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana also mentioned.
This is not the first time that an agreement has been announced as back on March 22, The Mirror announced that a £37 million fee had been agreed between the clubs.
Manchester United’s interest in the midfielder, labelled above average and extraordinary by Portugal’s coach, has gathered peace as the season has progressed and no team has shown more interest than us.
Those that have watched Carvalho in action believe he is going to be one of the best midfielders of his generation and he looks like a player who could really help transform Manchester United’s midfield woes.
The transfer window officially opens on July 1 so we will have to wait until then to see if both of these reports are substantiated.
