Head coach Marc Wilmots has revealed that Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj has chosen to pledge his future to Belgium which means he could be part of their World Cup squad this summer.
Due to his family, Januzaj was able to choose his national allegiance between Belgium, Kosovo and Albania but has decided to play for Belgium.
In terms of his football career, Belgium was the logical choice as the players given the quality of their squad. He is now a contender to be selected for their World Cup squad and could be on his way to Brazil in a young side that is tipped to be a wildcard in the tournament.
Januzaj’s decision ends a saga that has been asked all season long and he’s made the right choice because he will now be exposed to international football at the highest level which will only help his progress.
