Everton are interested in the possibility signing Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley for roughly £8 million, according to the Daily Mail.
Reportedly, two midfielders had already been told they could leave and it seems that Cleverley could join that list.
Discussion about the 24-year-old always seems to cause debate among United fans with some standing in his corner while others point towards the exit.
Many don’t like his safe style of football and you have to go the whole way back to Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal for the last time Cleverley played 90 minutes, which was actually a very strong performance from him.
Is Cleverley worth £8 million? As of right now, probably not.
However, under Roberto Martinez who plays with a much faster, expansive style of football than Moyes did, there’s every chance Cleverley could flourish.
Also, if he decided to stay in the summer and Louis van Gaal joined, it could be worth keeping Cleverley for just one more season as the 4-3-3 famous for which Van Gaal just to see if he flourishes in that sort of system.
