Louis van Gaal rumours have exploded since Holland newspaper De Telegraaf ran with the story he had already agreed a deal with Manchester United and they have continued over the weekend.
De Telegraaf is once again behind the stories. They claim that Van Gaal wants an agreement to be announced this week so he can concentrate on his role as Holland manager at the World Cup.
It should be noted here that De Telegraaf is a very well respected newspaper in Holland and they would almost certainly have sources very close to Van Gaal, so they wouldn’t be running with these stories without a real confidence they were true.
The Mirror are reporting the same story, more than likely based on De Telegraaf’s reports but David McDonnell takes it one step further by suggesting a three year deal would be worth £25 million to Van Gaal.
Just as quickly as David Moyes’ sacking happened, Van Gaal is looking increasingly likely to become Manchester United’s manager and that is a good thing.
This is not a summer where United can afford to not act swiftly and judging by how fast things have progressed in the past week, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Van Gaal as our manager before we face Sunderland this weekend if the reports are proved to be true.
