Paul Scholes and Phil Neville watched from the stands tonight as Atletico Madrid took Chelsea apart in a clinical 3-1 victory.
They may have been in London to hit the town with Gary Neville after his work was done with Sky or simply visiting to experience the raucous atmosphere of a European night at Stamford Bridge. Ahem.
Equally so, there were plenty of players in action who Manchester United have been linked with.
Atletico’s midfield duo Koke and Arda Turan caught the eye and the idea of Paul Scholes giving his opinion on a midfield target is comforting as there are few people better placed to do so.

Brazilian left-back Felipe Luis was also impressive down the left flank and with Patrice Evra likely to leave Manchester United in the summer, Luis’ name has been banded about on more than one occasion.
Right now, Scholes and Neville are coaches alongside Nicky Butt but that could all change if Louis van Gaal comes in.
