Earlier this week, Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac claimed he had received an offer from Manchester United which he was considering.
The 20-year-old has emerged as a first-team left-back for Schalke this season in the Bundesliga and has drawn interest from several clubs.
However, his agent Thoston Weck has said the complete opposite and insisted that he has not received any offers despite there being multiple English clubs interested in him.
“There is no offer, but interest from several clubs, also from England,” Weck is quoted as saying by ESPN.
In theory, this could have been a simple case of mistranslation from the Bosnian newspaper which ran the original quotes but given that they had a supporting headline and front page splash, it suggests otherwise.
Despite no offer being on the table, there is every chance that Manchester United are one of the English clubs who have registered an interest in Kolasinac.
In all honesty, if there is a 20-year-old left-back who has become one of the most promising players in the Bundesliga and we aren’t keeping tabs on him, then our scouts aren’t doing their jobs properly given our need for at least one new left-back.
