Ryan Giggs’ second press conference this morning was just as assured as his first one last week.
Confident, measured and informed in his answers, Giggs was in complete control of the press, even when they pushed him with questions he had no intention of answering in full.
He was asked on more than one occasion about where he saw his future and was also asked whether it would undermine a new manager, such as Louis van Gaal, if he was to named assistant manager.
“The way I’m thinking is I am enjoying it and my concentration is on tomorrow. We’ll see what happens,” he said in response.
One interesting point to note is how no member from the press directly asked Giggs a question about Van Gaal, something they were expected to do given the rumours of an agreed deal being banded about.
However, as has been pointed out, there may be more with regards to that in the embargoed part of the press conference released at 10:30pm tonight.
In other news, Giggs revealed that Robin van Persie took part in full contact training towards the end of last week and is in contention for the remaining games this season but admitted Sunderland may be a bit too early for him.
