Giggs backs Van Gaal to be a brilliant manager at Manchester United

by Sam Peoples

Ryan Giggs has spoken highly of Louis van Gaal as rumours he is about to become Manchester United manager grow in intensity.

Having won trophies in Holland, Spain and Germany including the Champions League, Van Gaal is no stranger to silverware.

Giggs hailed Van Gaal’s record in Europe and the reputation that proceeds his name as a manager with a ‘fantastic pedigree’.

“He’s got a brilliant reputation and has been a successful manager in different countries. He’s taken Holland to the World Cup. Yes, he’s got a fantastic pedigree,” Giggs said.

Every major newspaper in England has gone with the same story that Van Gaal is going to be appointed as Manchester United’s next manager early next week and now that it has reached this stage, it would be more than a surprise if Van Gaal didn’t become our new manager.

At this stage, it is still unclear what Giggs’ role would be if Van Gaal came in as manager because Manchester United want there to be some continuity and hope that Giggs could potentially be Van Gaal’s assistant.

The Van Gaal rumours have been gathering ever since the day David Moyes was sacked but we are now reaching a crescendo and, unless something drastically changes, this time next week Van Gaal will be our manager.
