Manchester United and FC Barcelona have signalled their interest in signing Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund, according to Bild in Germany.
The 24-year-old has been one of the most prolific wingers in Europe this season having scored 21 goals and given 15 assists in all competitions, something that is all the more impressive given Dortmund’s poor domestic form.
Reus tops the Bundesliga assist table ahead of the likes of Thomas Muller (10) and Frank Ribery (10) and places him only two goals behind top scorer Mario Mandzukic (18) in the rankings, which is a fantastic tally for a wide player.
That sort of return from a winger is one thing Manchester United have lacked this season and if Bild’s information is correct, we have enquired about him which shows our interest in Reus.
Last week, Reus refused to comment on his future amid rumours he has signed a new contract with Dortmund that will see him get a pay rise and the €35 million release clause, which would have come into effect next summer, taken out of his contract.
However, Reus’ decision to remain silent has helped fuel speculation and Bild believe he wants to keep the release clause in his contract, a move which would indicate he is keen to at least keep his options open.
