Paris St Germain chief Nasser al-Khelaifi has insisted Edinson Cavani will not be leaving the French champions this summer.
Manchester United have already met with Cavani’s agent, brother and got the ball rolling in terms of bringing him to Old Trafford this summer.
However, Al-Khelaifi has said PSG have no intention of selling him.
“Cavani? He will stay here – he has a contract with us,” he said.
Thank you Al-Khelaifi, that’s music to my ears.
Manchester United’s squad has more holes than a colander in every area, apart from in attack.
You can’t help but feel United even looking at Cavani is a potential marquee signing just for the sake of it.
“Look who we bought, aren’t we good,” a jubilant Woodward would have told colleagues if we landed Cavani.
This is not the season for wasting time in the transfer market and if United ignored Al-Khelaifi to continue their pursuits of Cavani, it’d a waste of our time, unless Rooney or Van Persie were to leave.
