Javier Hernandez named in Mexico’s final World Cup squad

Javier Hernandez has been named in Mexico’s final 23 man squad for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

Despite Chicharito’s poor form in the league, his place in the Mexico national team was never in doubt in much the same fashion as Rooney’s would be for England. So long as he was fit, he was going to be chosen.

As bad as his form has been this year, Hernandez is still third in Mexico’s all-time top goalscorer list and he’ll be one of their star men out in Brazil.

This season has been very poor for Chicharito. On a personal level, his performances have not been anywhere near what they were last season where he began to show a more rounded side to his game and it was a reflection of United’s incredibly poor form.

Will he be at United next summer? That remains to be seen. Either way, we’ll want him to have a strong World Cup.
