Manchester United’s Angelo Henriquez has not been named in Chile’s 30 man provisional squad for the World Cup meaning he won’t be going to Brazil.
It comes as no surprise really given that Henriquez has spent a lot of the second half of this season injured on loan at Real Zaragoza but he’ll be disappointed he couldn’t build on what was a great 2013.
Henriquez was extremely impressive for Chile at the Under-20 World Cup and scored in his first appearance for Manchester United on the pre-season tour. He was subsequently sent on loan to Real Zaragoza where he enjoyed some good form at the start of his spell in Spain but injury curtailed his progress and his season has tailed off because of it.
Nevertheless, there are big hopes for Henriquez in the future and he’ll likely get a chance to impress United’s new manager on the pre-season tour of USA this summer.
