Less than 48 hours after the end of the season, Manchester United are attacking the transfer window at full steam.
United’s decision to play the slow game in the transfer window last summer ultimately left us at the checkout empty handed, desperately grabbing at Marouane Fellaini to make sure we didn’t leave the shop empty handed, and it was a prelude to the terrible season we had.
Now, United look ready and willing to invest and with a deal for Louis van Gaal expected to be the first major arrival at Old Trafford in the next few days, there’s likely to be more this month if everything goes to plan.
What other deals could United be looking to wrap up before the World Cup?
Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho is the prime candidate given our consistent pursuit of him during the season while names like Toni Kroos, Kevin Strootman and Marco Reus are going to continue to be linked with United.
It’s good that United have learned from the mistakes of last summer and aren’t wasting any time this season because we could ill afford to make the same mistakes twice but whether we are more successful in our pursuits remains to be seen.
