Last week, we brought you a story from United.no that talks were ongoing between KNVB and United. Today, the reports come from Jon Martin Henriksen who currently works for VG, the largest sports newspaper in Norway, and has previously lived and worked in Manchester, giving him close ties to the club.
“Van Gaal is obviously making decisions together with the board on players leaving. He agreed a deal with United days ago,” he said.
As well as these fresh reports from Norway, The Mirror’s Simon Mullock believes Van Gaal’s decision to give the Dutch squad a day off tomorrow because he is expected to be announced as United manager.
In his press conference today, Van Gaal rejected any opportunity to talk about United at his press conference today but all recent signs have pointed to the fact that the ex-Bayern and Barcelona boss is to replace Ryan Giggs as manager.
Will it be tomorrow when Van Gaal is formally announced as manager? Reports suggest that may be the case and although previous delays mean most United fans remain cautious, a decision is surely imminent given his reponsibilities with Holland for the World Cup.
