If all the reports about Louis van Gaal were proved true, he would have been announced as Manchester United manager about 20 times by now.
Most said he was going to be unveiled last week, some said the announcement was going to be today, some say tomorrow is when all will be revealed and now Mark Ogden from The Telegraph has said Thursday is when it will all be confirmed. Ian Ladyman and Matt Lawton from the Daily Mail are also reporting the same story.
Right now, it is all a bit of a merry go round.
Ogden is usually Mr. Reliable when it comes to the big stories regarding United but he, like every other British paper, has been wide of the mark with the dates so far. Will the same happen again on Thursday?
On paper, everything does point to an appointment happening this week.
Andy Mitten believes an announcement is imminent and he isn’t one to go public about transfer stories, Giggs believes there will be news this week and sources close to the club report a contract has already been signed.
It’s all a bit exhausting as a United fan because we are eager for the confirmation as soon as possible. However, with Ed Woodward meeting investors on Thursday and Van Gaal being busy with World Cup preparations, you’d be more than surprised if either party let this drag out much longer.
