The Guardian are reporting that United will offer £30m in a second bid for Shaw after the original £27m was rejected and it is considered to meet Southampton’s valuation.
United made their intentions clear to sign Shaw this summer by submitting a £27m bid straight after the game on the last day of the season against Southampton. In complete contrast to last year, it was a swift and decisive action which showed how keen we are in Shaw.
Of all the players we have been heavily linked with including Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho, Shaw looks the most likely to be our first signing this summer.
Southampton might not want to sell him but £30m for a teenager with only one season of full Premier League experience under his belt is an unbelievable price and for United, he could become our left back for over a decade which would make it a great price too.
Ed Woodward told investors ysterday that United were making signings aimed at getting us straight back into the Champions League and shining Shaw would solve our problem of replacing Patrice Evra.
United really need to bring in a few top class players in certain positions to really strengthen the squad and Shaw would be the perfect start to the summer.
