Southampton’s Luke Shaw is on the verge of becoming Manchester United’s first signing this summer.
The Times’ Jonathan Norcroft and The People’s Steve Bates told MUTV yesterday that Shaw wants a move and it is close to being completed.
The 18-year-old was originally subject to a reported £22.5m bid from United back in January and it was followed up by a £27m after the last game of the season, which was rejected. Now, following a second bid in the region of £30m which meets Southampton’s valuation, Shaw is set to move to Old Trafford.
Chelsea’s interest moved to Atletico Madrid’s Luis Felipe and Manchester City haven’t got an interest in him which gave United an easy task of simply meeting Southampton’s valuation.
So long as that is met and personal terms are agreed, Shaw looks set for a move to United.
