Manchester United based journalists were all in attendance last night for Holland’s friendly against Ecuador.
They weren’t there for the pleasantries and orange football kits, they were of course there to keep tabs on Manchester United’s likely manager to be Louis van Gaal.
From the very first interview by Garry Cotterill and Dan Roan where the now infamous ‘stupid question’ response came out, Van Gaal has had firm control over the media as he did once again last night when taking questions.
Van Gaal to Dutch reporter.'I don't have to tell you anything. You've been asking me the same question 3 times now.' Oh, Louis.

Van Gaal doesn’t give in to pressure from the media and is happy to tell the press exactly what he is thinking, and he does it a lot of the time with a smile on his face.
Watching Van Gaal’s handling of the media this week has been more entertaining than watching Manchester United all season and it’s somewhat comforting to know that United’s likely-to-be manager will control the press, not the other way around.
