BREAKING: Ryan Giggs has offically retired from his Manchester United playing career

by Sam Peoples

Ryan Giggs has called time on his Manchester United career in order to fully focus on his new job as assistant manager under Louis van Gaal.

Just like Sir Alex Ferguson retiring, this day was always going to come but nobody wanted it to and the Van Gaal euphoria has been dampened a little bit by the realisation that Giggs won’t ever play in a United shirt again.

However, there is excitement in equal measure at the news because Giggs isn’t going anywhere. He is staying at United but in a different role and looking forward to the future, the foundations for him becoming our manager at one point are now in place.

Thanks for everything Giggs.

Ryan Giggs

114 goals
