Ryan Giggs is excited at the prospect of becoming Manchester United’s new assistant manager and is keen to start working underneath Louis van Gaal who he labelled as ‘world-class’.
It was widely expected that Giggs was going to be named Van Gaal’s assistant manager but due to delays, there was some concern that Van Gaal wanted to bring in Patrick Kluivert with him.
However, Giggs will now take up the assistant manager position and it’s very exciting to see how he will do under the stewardship of Van Gaal.
“I am thrilled to have the chance to serve as assistant manager. Louis van Gaal is a world-class coach,” he said.
Van Gaal signed a three year deal which is the perfect length of time for him to get United back to the top and for Giggs, it is the perfect opportunity to learn from one of the world’s best coaches like he did under Sir Alex Ferguson for nearly three decades.
As of now, it isn’t know whether Giggs will retire or continue in a playing role as well.
There has been no announcement with regards to the future of Phil Neville, Nicky Butt or Paul Scholes as of yet but news will come out of the club in the next few days.
