Following a record breaking points tally from Italian champions Juventus, it appears manager Antonio Conte is already preparing for his title defence as the Turin giants are being linked with numerous players from many of Europe’s top leagues.
Both La Gazetta Dello Sport and La Repubblica are not only reporting a €20m deal to bring Alexis Sanchez of Barcelona to Italy but also Didier Drogba from Galatasaray and a double swoop for Manchester United pair Patrice Evra and Luis Nani.
With Evra out of contract and Nani surplus to requirements, this double signing would be deemed as fantastic business by Conte who could see both players arrive for less than €8m.
La Repubblica suggests that the Evra move will only progress if new United boss Louis Van Gaal confirms he is happy to see the French full back depart from Old Trafford, whereas the deal for Nani is far more likely as the Portuguese winger has failed to deliver on the big stage for a long time.
It was only two years ago that Juventus announced the signing of Paul Pogba from United and he has progressed in such rapid fashion that he is now worth around £40m an expected to be a star at the World Cup in Brazil.
Although the possible departure of both Evra and Nani wouldn’t amount to such financial heartache as that of the Pogba move, it would certainly represent strong business from the Italian champions as they would be signing two respected and vastly experienced international footballers for a token fee.
Do you think Manchester United should let Evra and Nani leave?
