Yehvin Konoplyanka looks set for a summer move away from Dnipro and despite his recent comments, he may yet be willing to move to Old Trafford.
The winger was said to have turned down a move to Old Trafford based on the fact that United will not be competing in a European competition next season.
However, Ukrainian based journalist Igor Burbas believes that Konoplyanka would be willing to join any of Liverpool, Tottenham and United and that the lack of European action at Old Trafford would not deter him.
Speaking to The Peoples Person, Burbas said: “Although Dnipro has a chance to play in the Champions League, Konoplyanka could move to Manchester United, as he would still get the chance to play games at the highest level in the Premier League to showcase his talent.
“For a long time, Konplyanka has wished for a move to a top five European club, and his current club knows this. He has a clause in his contract which states that he can leave for £15 million, which is perfect for a player at such a high level.”
Despite a summer move to the Premier League being on the cards, the 22-year-old has often stated that he likes the Bundesliga, but will move to the Premier League as it suits him best.
Konoplyanka was the subject of a failed bid by Liverpool in January and could still move there in the summer as Dnipro prepare for his inevitable exit.
Burbas added: “Since he has sprouted up to the highest level, Dnipro bosses have realised that one day the player will have to move and that this summer is the perfect moment to sell him, otherwise he could lose his motivation, his drive and that would be the clubs worst error.”
With United on the back foot, we will have to move fast to sign the Ukrainian ahead of others and at just £15m, he’d be a very cheap option for what many consider to be a fantastic, unpolished talent who would almost certainly improve under better coaching.
