David de Gea has hailed the quality of Andres Iniesta and said he would sign him for Manchester United if he could.
Iniesta has consistently been one of the best players in his position for a long time now and although he is 30, his influence at both Barcelona and Spain hasn’t dwindled.
At the World Cup this summer, he’ll be one of Vicente Del Bosque’s most important players and after scoring the goal that won the World Cup in 2010, Iniesta will be conident he can deliver again.
This week, De Gea has been busy with interviews ahead of what could be his debut for Spain and after joking about trying to convince Fabregas to join United, he has turned his attention to Iniesta.
“I would take Iniesta to Manchester United because for me, he is one of the best in the world, if not the best,” he told AS.
“He has character, great qualities and goals – he has everything.”
By the sounds of it, De Gea wants United to bring as many Spaniards to Old Trafford as possible, which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing.
His blossoming romance with Juan Mata clearly isn’t enough Spanish and if he had his own way, he’d probably bring the whole squad back with him from the World Cup.
