Adnan Januzaj had such an impact on the fans of Belgium in his 16 minute cameo against Tunisia this week after replacing Eden Hazard that he was named Man of the Match by fans.
Readers of Sportwereld gave Januzaj 24% of the vote ahead of Dries Mertens (20%) and given that it was the 19-year-old’s official debut, after his original one was scrapped from the records, it means he has been named Man of the Match in 100% of his Belgium games so far.
Highlights of his performance show him doing what he did all season at Manchester United – making mincemeat of the fullback with his quick feet that allowed him to find space in order to cross.
The Tunisian defence didn’t seem to know what they could do to stop him and ultimately, his substitution helped change the game for Belgium who went on to win 1-0.
It’s going to be very exciting to see what Januzaj can do at the World Cup.
