Antoine Griezmann, 23, has caught the eye of many clubs following a brilliant season for Real Sociedad.
His fine form has earned him a call up to the France World Cup squad and also led to his name being added to the long list of potential Manchester United summer targets.
Greizmann’s club stats for the 2013/14 season speak for themselves – 49 appearances and 20 goals are hugely impressive, even more so when compared to the woeful form of United’s three main wingers Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young, and Luis Nani who managed only eight goals between them.
The recent injury to Franck Ribéry has been a blow to the French team but may help Griezmann’s chances of shining for his national side. The Sociedad winger has forced his way into the thinking of manager Didier Deschamps and after two goals this week in a friendly against Jamaica, including an audacious back-heel for the second, Griezmann has shown he is capable of showing some of the confidence and flair that United have been missing in the wide areas.
It is no secret that United are lacking spark and creativity on the wings and Griezmann is known for his acceleration and agility when running with the ball.
Exciting, confident and full of energy, Griezmann is everything United’s wingers weren’t last season and he’d be a fantastic addition this summer, more so than the likes of Yevhen Konoplyanka who has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford.
