Real Madrid have opened negotiations with Toni Kroos and are waiting to hear a response from his agent Volker Struth, according to El Confidencial.
They say that Bayern Munich must decide what they want to do with Kroos this week as he wants to enter into negotiations with Madrid.
Bild.de has picked up on these reports and suggested the offer is €5m a year net (after tax) which would be far in excess of the €4-6m gross (before tax) he currently earns at Bayern Munich, and also gave special attention to rubbishing rumours that a swap deal with Sami Khedira could happen.
El Confidencial have been very busy this week with Kroos stories as only a few days ago they reported that Louis van Gaal had personally telephoned Kroos to try and persuade him that joining Manchester United was his best move.
As Kroos is entering the final year of his contract at Bayern, he is free to negotiate deals with other clubs.
Kroos is now out in Brazil with Germany so it is unlikely that any sort of agreement on his future will be finalised until his World Cup participation has finished but these new reports suggest Madrid are the club who have put their offer forward.
