Philip Lahm and Thomas Muller are to sign contract extensions to keep them at Bayern Munich, according to Bild.de.
Bild believes an official announcement will be made today with regards to the deal for Lahm and Muller is expected to complete his negotiations soon in moves that will keep them at the German club until 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Muller, 24, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford since Louis van Gaal took over and he fuelled speculation himself by admitting he held a special relationship with Van Gaal.
After asking for showdown talks with Bayern last week, it is clear a compromise has been met with the club.
“There have been some very good discussions with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge,” Muller said of the situation.
Muller’s flirtation with Van Gaal seemed to do the trick as it didn’t take long for Bayern to agree a deal with him and it also highlights a big difference from the Kroos situation.
Bayern have been happy to let that speculation carry on for a long time whereas they sorted Muller’s future out swiftly, which is indicative of their unwillingnesss to bow to Kroos’ demands, leaving a potential exit still open.
