Andy Mitten has said that Ander Herrera is set to join Manchester United to all but confirm that the Spaniard will move to Old Trafford.
Mitten has a strong working relationship with Herrera having previously met and interviewed the player and has reported on the Basque club for a number of years, so he wouldn’t add his name to the mixer unless he was confident it would go through.
Alongside Mitten, James Ducker from The Times has reported the same story and they are regarded as some of the most reliable journalists when it comes to United news.
“Just woke up in Brazil. The @anderherrera8 stories are true. He’s a top lad who loves football culture and he´s going to be a great player,” Mitten said on Twitter.
Due to our recent track record in the transfer market, United fans won’t believe any deal for Herrera is in place until he is pictured holding a United shirt but by all accounts, this deal looks complete.
Herrera has a release clause which we are willing to pay and wages won’t be an issue, so it is just a matter of time before anything is announced.
With most transfer rumours, it’s safe to take them with a pinch of salt but having been covered by every major news outlet in Spain and England, as well as some of the most reliable British journalists, it would take something drastic to cause this deal to collapse. That being said, fingers and toes are still crossed.
