Holland winger Memphis Depay has brushed off speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United this summer and doesn’t want to discuss it until after the World Cup.
Depay, 20, has been very impressive for Holland during the World Cup with two goals and an assist in two appearances in three games so far, performances which have led to him being linked with a move to United.
Currently, Depay has a contract with PSV until 2017 and although he hasn’t ruled out a move away in the future, he was keen to avoid talking about it until the World Cup is over.
“I’m now in the World Cup and after that we will see,” Depay said.
“I have a contact with PSV until 2017, so we will have to see what happens in the future.”
Louis van Gaal has been linked to a plethora of Dutch players since taking over as Manchester United manager but Depay has really impressed, especially given that he is only 20.
Antonio Valencia has signed a new deal but United certainly need some fresh legs on the wings and if his performances at the World Cup are anything to go by, Depay could be a perfect signing for Van Gaal who traditionally enjoys a 4-3-3 with fast wingers.
