Shinji Kagawa will be joining his English and Spanish teammates back at Manchester United in good time for the start of pre-season.
Japan crashed out of the World Cup at the group stage after a 4-1 defeat to Columbia left them bottom of Group C with only one point.
Kagawa started for Japan and went into the break level at 1-1. The United midfielder enjoyed a fruitful first half with a pass completion rate of 96% but his good build-up play was let down by his poor shooting.
He couldn’t help his country recover when they went behind for a second time and spurned a fantastic opportunity to level before he was substituted on the 85th minute.
Here’s what United fans thought of Kagawa’s performance against Colombia:

Ultimate compliment to Kagawa is that he has been completely man marked out of this World Cup.
