Manchester United completed the signing of Ander Herrera today much to the joy and relief of fans and players alike.
The trio were key components of Spain’s Under-21s squad that won the 2011 European Championships and Herrera scored Spain’s first goal in a final where Mata was named man of the match.
The addition of Herrera gives United a strong Spanish contingent as he joins Mata and David De Gea at the club. Of course, the next logical step is for Herrera to buy a house on the same street as Mata and De Gea.
The linking up of two players so technically gifted as Herrera and Mata is a mouthwatering concept for United fans and Herrera will be able to bridge the gap between defence and attack that has been so apparent in recent years.
