Manchester United are nowhere near finished with their spending in this summer transfer window if Mark Ogden from The Telegraph‘s information is correct.
A budget of £150-200m has been quoted by Ogden with a view to signing five or six new signings in total, something which would suggest another three or four new players are expected to join United this summer.
There have been plenty of varying budget amounts being banded around but Ogden is usually very accurate with his United new, so it’s right to take notice of what he has to say.
Prior to the arrival of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, there was no confidence among fans about how successful United would be in the summer window. However, their signings has helped Ed Woodward prepare his tattered reputation, given fans more belief that the right players will be bought this year.
Ogden has pointed towards Arturo Vidal as the main target which is music to the ears of United fans. There is no player better suited to United’s needs and if Woodward wanted a marquee signings, he should look no further than Vidal.
As well as incomings, exits are discussed and the futures of Javier Hernandez, Tom Cleverley, Anderson and Ashley Young are all considered to be up in the air.
Whether Ogden is right about United’s unbelievable budget or not, it would be very surprising if the club didn’t look at making any more signings.
