Official: Manchester United goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini has joined Italy’s Hellas Verona

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United’s young goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini has now officially joined Serie A side Hellas Verona.

The Peoples Person reported the deal a few weeks ago and the contract has now been signed to complete the deal to take the 19-year-old back to Serie A.

Gollini was a free agent after not being offered a new contract by United and has now returned to Italy following after three years as a United player in order to improve his chances of getting regular first-team action, something he wouldn’t have got for a long time, if ever, at Old Trafford.

The exit of Gollini is likely to be swiftly followed by the arrival of a replacement goalkeeper as we are waiting on the official announcement of Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic who, like Gollini, has agreed a deal a few weeks ago.
