Ander Herrera might not have played a minute of football for Manchester United yet but he has already started to endear himself to United fans.
This weekend, Herrera, 24, spent his day off sightseeing around Manchester to get used to his new surroundings.
It must be a characteristic shared among the Spaniards because Juan Mata took a trip around Chester soon after arriving in Manchester to soak up the local culture.
More than most players, Mata endeared himself to United fans in the space of just five months last year. It wasn’t just the fact that his performances got better on the pitch, it was his whole persona and you could tell he understood what it meant to be a United player almost straight away.
Herrera is following the same path. Having already been toured around United’s museum by Sir Bobby Charlton, Herrera has said it will be a dream to put on the United shirt out on tour in USA. He’s presented himself very well in the short time he has had to thus far and it bodes well for the future.
