Adnan Januzaj could become Manchester United’s new No. 11

The much talked about advert which sees the unveiling of Manchester United’s new kit may have revealed more than just a different strip, as the eagle eyed among you may have noticed.

In the teaser advert released as a build-up to the reveal of the new kit being unveiled, Ryan Giggs stands behind Wayne Rooney alongside Robin van Persie and Juan Mata.

The final advert that shows the 2014/15 kit sees Adnan Januzaj take Giggs’ place, as spotted by Aoife Turner.

Of course, as Giggs has retired, it’s logical that he was replaced by a current player but could it be a subliminal message? Januzaj, who made a sensational first team debut against Sunderland last season, is considered the strongest candidate to become United’s new No. 11.

The possibility of retiring the shirt in honour of Giggs has been mentioned but with a shirt so iconic and meaningful, why not make it an accolade worth fighting for?

Januzaj has proven himself to be an exceptional talent and was one of the shining lights in an otherwise torrid 2013/14 season. With the No. 11 on his back, he could cement himself in United history as the previous owner did for over 20 years and from what he has shown so far, he is more than capable of taking over the famous shirt.
