Here is the latest Manchester United transfer gossip from around the web including a surprise mention for Manchester City’s Yaya Toure.
If there’s one player in Manchester City’s side who has been the most important to them over the past few years, it is Yaya Toure and the Daily Star has claimed the midfielder snubbed a move to Old Trafford in order to pledge his future to City. There’s not a chance City would ever sell to United so it would be strange if the enquiry was ever made.
As well as Toure, the Daily Star has reported that West Ham could be in for a double loan move for Ashley Young and Wilfried Zaha, something which should be swiftly rejected if true. If Young is going to leave it should only be on a permanent deal while Zaha needs to stay at United rather than being shipped off on loan again.
talkSPORT have discussed the possibility of Ron Vlaar being an option for United, an option which should swiftly be forgotten. Vlaar was superb at the World Cup but has been distinctly average for a long time, so the club should not be signing somebody purely off the back of some performances that may never be repeated.
Elsewhere, Nigel de Jong has been linked with an £8m move to Old Trafford. The Peoples Person’s Joe Taylor singled out De Jong as a midfielder who could be a shrewd signing for United this summer and after his performances at the World Cup, many others would agree with him.
The Manchester Evening News has also published a list of five names they feel could change things for United, including Arturo Vidal and Mats Hummels.
