Louis van Gaal wasted no time in getting his Manchester United squad training and put them through their paces on the first day in USA.
The squad landed at approximately 2am local time on Saturday morning and had their first training session this afternoon. It wasn’t the first time Van Gaal had seen his squad in action but he’ll now begin to learn exactly where the strengths and weaknesses of his squad lie.
As with any pre-season tour, winning matches is not the prerogative. Building up match fitness will be the biggest priority for Van Gaal and his staff as there is less than four weeks until United’s first Premier League game of the season at home to Swansea.
With temperatures ranging in the mid to high 20s, warm weather training will help to improve players’ fitness and with the first tour game against LA Galaxy only four days away, Van Gaal will want to put the squad through their paces in order to be ready in time.
