Manchester United confirm Patrice Evra’s transfer to Juventus

Manchester United have confirmed Patrice Evra has joined Juventus for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £1.5m.

Evra, 33, has signed a two-year contract and walks away from Old Trafford having spent eight and a half years with the club.

Since joining in 2006, Evra has won almost everything there is to offer including the 2008 Champions League and five Premier League titles.

Thanks to the arrival of Luke Shaw, United are covered in the left-back position but United have lost far more than just a left-back in Evra.

Few understood the ethos of the club like Evra did. He was, and is, United through and through and it’s going to be nigh on impossible to replace his character in the dressing room.

Evra has left a fantastic legacy behind him at United and hopefully he can enjoy some more success in the twilight of his career with Juventus in Serie A.
