Amidst a summer full of speculation linking Arturo Vidal with a move to Manchester United, today sees the Chilean international return to Juventus for a full medical and pre-season training.
Juventus officials will take a look at a knee injury which has plagued Vidal over the last couple of months, with Italian newspaper Il Messaggero reporting that new Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri wants to take a closer look at the injury, following the player returning to international football earlier than scheduled which could have done more harm than good.
Il Messaggero goes on to say that former Italy boss Allegri will sit down with Vidal to discuss the player’s future. It has been widely reported that Louis Van Gaal is keen to bring the combative midfielder to Old Trafford, with rumours suggesting a €40m bid has already been rejected.
Last night, Gazzetta dello Sport suggested his agent was going to present a €60m offer to Juventus from United and now that both Vidal and his agent are in Turin, there is expected to be some development.
With Juventus looking to bolster their squad in a bid to retain the Serie A title, a big money sale would go a long way in serving the replenishments of the squad and Allegri could be willing to part ways with Vidal if the bid is large enough.
Allegri will face the press tomorrow afternoon in a conference where he is expected to discuss the future of Vidal, so we’ll bring you the latest news when it happens.
