STARTING XI: Manchester United vs Valencia – Januzaj returns to squad

Louis van Gaal has stuck with a 3-5-2 formation for his first match in charge of Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Jonny Evans misses the game while youngsters Tyler Blackett and Reece James have both been given starting roles.

Javier Hernandez has been given another chance to impress Van Gaal while the quartet of Darren Fletcher, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney continue to start alongside each other.

There is a spot for Adnan Januzaj and Marouane Fellaini on the bench after returning from their longer post-World Cup break but there is no sign of Luke Shaw.

Also, it’s a shame there was no room for 18-year-old James Wilson who scored four goals against Manchester City in the Manchester Senior Cup final last week.
