Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has once again reiterated the club’s stance that Arturo Vidal is ‘not going anywhere’ this summer.
The Chilean midfielder is believed to be one of Manchester United’s top targets this summer but Juventus have been very firm with regards to Vidal since he returned from the World Cup.
Antonio Conte’s surprising departure as Juventus boss placed question marks over Vidal’s future but Allegri has insisted he will remain a Juventus player next season.
“Vidal? He’s not going anywhere,” Allegri told reporters.
Just like United’s pursuit of Thiago Alcantara last summer, Vidal has left United fans frustrated due to continued speculation surrounding his future and it is likely to rumble on all summer.
As Vidal is still currently on tour in Australia with Juventus, it’s unlikely any deal will be agreed until they return to Italy but United’s time is running out in the transfer window.
United are in the market for a new midfielder and Vidal is likely to remain a target but Ed Woodward has so far failed to deliver on big promises about signings, so it remains to be seen whether he can put his money where his mouth is with Vidal.
