Marcos Rojo has confirmed he will move to Manchester United in an interview with Argentinian radio Continental.
“It feels like a dream, to be a Manchester United player. Leaving Sporting wasn’t easy,” he said.
Rojo, 24, also told Continental that he had spoken about United with Juan Sebastian Veron back when they were team-mates: “He told me about them when we played for Estudiantes.”
Of course, Rojo’s move will still depend on him successfully passing a medical with United before the move can be finalised.
Reports from Gianluca Di Marzio suggest Rojo will be joining for €20m on a four-year deal with Nani going in the other direction.
All that is left now is for there to be an official announcement from both Sporting Lisbon and United to confirm the deal is complete following Rojo’s medical which reports suggest will happen tomorrow in Manchester
