Marcos Rojo has flown from Lisbon this evening to complete his medical with Manchester United to finalise a €20m transfer.
The 24-year-old, joining from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, has had his move confirmed by both United and Sporting.
All that needs to be completed for the move to be sanctioned is a standard medical, which Rojo should have no problems in passing given that he had been in training with Sporting prior to handing in his transfer request.
United had to react quickly in the wake of a disappointing defeat to Swansea and have done by securing Rojo within three days but he needs to be followed by others if United are to challenge for the title this season.
With a new central midfielder and another defender still essential signings, Ed Woodward has a lot more work to do in this transfer window with very little time left.
Update: Marcos Rojo has now been pictured in Manchester. He will undergo his medical early tomorrow morning at Carrington and should be unveiled as a United player in the afternoon.
