Marouane Fellaini‘s potential loan move to Serie A side Napoli now looks in major doubt after the Belgian midfielder was pictured with his foot in a protective boot.
Napoli were closing in on a season long loan for Fellaini but after injuring his foot in training, the 26-year-old will likely be unable to complete a medical.
Louis van Gaal‘s reshuffle began yesterday with the announcement of a deal to sign Marcos Rojo with Nani going in the other direction on loan to Sporting Lisbon but if Fellaini’s injury does scupper his loan move, it will be a blow to Van Gaal’s plans.
Fellaini has never fully settled at United since arriving for £27.m last summer but a loan spell instead of a permanent move for the Belgian would indicate United are prepared to give him another chance if he can prove himself out on loan.

At this stage, it isn’t known how serious Fellaini’s injury is but Napoli will certainly be concerned at signing him immediately after an injury, given how long he was out for with separate injuries last season.
