Now that the new Premier League season has started, we’ve asked our staff to give us their predictions of what they are expecting this season.
Here is Part Two of our our predictions.
Tom Parker – News Contributor
Where will United finish in the league and why: Third. I still think United are a little way behind City and Chelsea but I’d back us to finish above Arsenal and Liverpool, especially with the smaller amount of games we have to play. We have a good manager this season too.
Who will be United’s most important player: Ander Herrera. From what I’ve seen so far, he’s every inch the player we’ve been missing in midfield for so long. Industrious, strong in the tackle and decisive in possession. He’ll be a star this season.
Your dream signing for this summer: It has to be Arturo Vidal. He’d be absolutely sublime alongside Herrera and almost guarantees 15 goals a season from midfield, something we’ve lacked for ages! G’warn Woody, make it happen.
What do you most want to see this season: United playing nice football, it sounds a bit overly simplistic but can’t be taken for granted after last year. Oh and Danny Welbeck doing his thing, too.
Premier League winners: Chelsea. Invested wisely and they should pip City if they can sort out their form against smaller sides. Historically Jose does the business in his second season.
FA Cup winners: Spurs. It’s been since forever that Spurs last won something, so maybe they’ll get some silverware under their belts this year.
League Cup winners: United, I fancy us to win a cup competition, especially with no Champions League commitments, so maybe the FA Cup, which we’ve not done too well in for a while.

Where will United finish in the league and why: As things stand with only Herrera, Shaw and Rojo added, we’ll be battling for fourth with Liverpool, Spurs and Everton. Will we scrape it? I think we can.
Who will be United’s most important player: Wayne Rooney. He will step up as captain & be a great leader by example on the pitch. He’s also playing his preferred role up top. Will score 20+ goals this season.
Your dream signing for this summer: Easy shout. Vidal – the complete central midfielder.
What do you most want to see this season: To see United playing free-flowing, attacking & attractive football again – it’s been gone for far too long. Even under Fergie during his last 3-4 years it’s diminished.
Premier League champions: Chelsea. Their squad quality, balance & depth is so strong. Mourinho at the helm too, who’ll be hurting from drawing a blank last season.
FA Cup winners: United. We’ll take it more seriously this season for obvious reasons and Van Gaal seems to know what he’s doing in cup football…
League Cup winners: QPR. Harry and Glenn could be a cheeky dream-team in the making there and Redknapp’s done it before in the FA Cup with Portsmouth, as we all know too well.

Where will United finish in the league and why: It depends on what signings we make between now and the end of the window. I think right now we’d get fourth with the squad we have and how we’ve performed pre-season. We’ve got no European football to distract us. With a couple more signings (Vidal) and AN other, then I do think we’ll challenge for the title.
Who will be United’s most important player: I’d love to say Vidal but Iwan will kill me, so I’m going to go with Ander Herrera. From what I’ve seen in pre-season, he’s just what we need in midfield.
Your dream signing for this summer: Angel Di Maria. Yet there are noises that it’ll happen, so I’ll go for Mats Hummels.
What do you most want to see this season: To turn up at Anfield, to be ready for a battle there. For our midfield not to wimp out. A win would be nice, too.
Premier League champions: Chelsea.
FA Cup winners: Manchester United.
League Cup winners: Everton.
